CITIZEN CHARTER
1. Aim / Purpose of this Charter
The Department of Sainik Welfare undertakes various welfare measures in respect of ex-servicemen and their dependents of the State. The main purpose of this Charter is to create awareness amongst the ex-servicemen and their dependents on various welfare measures extended to them by the State Government and Central Government.
2. Enumeration of services delivered by the Department
We deliver the following services
The Armed Forces Personnel defend the territorial integrity of the Nation by guarding the motherland 24X7 in most inhospitable terrain in accordance with the National Policy, under hostile conditions. The Soldiers retire at an young age of 37-40 years, i.e. in prime of their career and age. Hence, it is essential that the war widows, Ex-Servicemen, disabled soldiers and dependents are rehabilitated considering their selfless service to the nation.
Sainik Welfare Department delivers the following services:
a) Registration and Issue of Identity Cards.
b) Monitor implementation of reservation in employment extended by Govt of India/State Govt/PSUs/PSBs etc.
c) To assist ex-servicemen and widows in placements in the Private Sector.
d) To assist in self employment schemes being implemented by Govt of India and recommending their cases.
e) To extend the benefits provided by Central / State Governments to the battle casualties, war widows, recipients of gallantry awards. Assist in self employment through Pavala Vaddi Scheme and reimbursement of interest on loans taken from banks.
f) To assist for medical treatment through Military Hospitals, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), etc.
g) To assist in registration for Canteen Stores Department (CSD)
h) Monitor the implementation of reservations in various professional courses to the Children of Armed Forces Personnel as per Government Orders.
j) To assist in settlement of pensions/family pensions and other benefits and to organize Pension Adalat for resolving pension related grievances.
k) To assist the Branch Recruiting Officers in conduct of Recruitment Rallies in the state.
l) To maintain Sainik Rest Houses in the state.
m) Disbursement of financial assistance to the non pensioner II World War Veterans and widows.
n) To organize / recommend resettlement training to the ex-servicemen and widows as per Government Instructions.
o) Conduct Armed Forces Flag Day throughout the state and raise voluntary contributions for Flag Day Fund.
p) Process sanction of various grants from Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
q) To conduct Rajya Sainik Board meeting to review the various welfare measures, State Managing Committee meeting for Armed Forces Flag Day Fund and meeting of committee for resolving the grievances of Ex-Servicemen, Regional Sainik Board meetings etc.
3. The Sainik Welfare Department’s aim is to achieve the following service delivery/ quality parameters.
